Dr. Taylor Cragen
Dr. Taylor Cragen grew up in High Ridge and decided that she wanted to be a veterinarian while in grade school at Sacred Heart. While in high school, Taylor was a volunteer student at Advantage Veterinary Center, working and learning alongside Dr. Schatz. Pursuing her dream led her to the University of Missouri for both Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 2015, Dr. Cragen worked in Farmington at a mixed animal clinic before deciding to move back home to High Ridge.
Daisy, her 13 year old Golden, is her loyal companion. Daisy helped Dr. Cragen survive veterinary school and hasn’t left her side since.
In her free time, Dr. Cragen enjoys cheering on the Blues; hanging out with family and friends; trying new restaurants; geocaching and walks in the park.
She is excited to come home to both High Ridge and Advantage Veterinary Center. The Advantage Veterinary family is ecstatic to have her join the team and look forward to introducing her to our furry friends.
Dr. Susan Giraudo
Dr. Giraudo was born and raised in St. Louis and developed a love for animals as a young child. Her walks around the neighborhood as a toddler involved petting every dog or cat she could find along the way. Dr. Giraudo graduated from Truman State University with a B.S. in Biology and went on to attend the University of Missouri- Columbia's Veterinary School. She graduated summa cum laude with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mizzou in 2008. Dr. Giraudo spent 8 years in private practice in St. Louis before joining the Advantage Vet Center team in 2016.
Her veterinary interests include medicine, soft tissue surgery, and forming lifelong bonds with the animals and their humans. When not caring for furry critters, Dr. Giraudo enjoys reading, gardening, running, and spending time with her family. She and her husband have three children, Nora, Elliot, and newborn daughter Alice, and 2 dogs, Cookie (a special-needs Cocker Spaniel) and Remy (an energetic mutt!).
Dr. Jennifer Haug
Dr. Haug is a native of the St. Charles area and grew up with a passion for animals. She spent most of her youth at the barn caring for horses and eventing in Pony Club. She received her inspiration to become a vet from her beloved heart dog, Nora. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and received her B.S. in Animal Science and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating Veterinary School, Dr. Haug worked as an associate Veterinarian in Wentzville, Missouri for two years.
Dr. Haug and her husband, Todd are blessed with two handsome boys, Gabriel and Elliott and two beautiful girls, Maren and Blythe. Her four legged family includes a chihuahua named Roxy, a cat named Sgt. Tibbs, a Bassett mix named Walt Disney, and a Shepherd mix named Poe. Outside of the vet clinic, Dr. Haug enjoys her time with her family, cheering for them in Taekwondo, and dreaming of trips to Disney World.
She considers the best part of her job to be meeting new families and working with them to create a happy and healthy life for their pet.
Dr. Heather Schatz
Dr. Schatz is a native of Fenton, Missouri. She studied Animal Sciences at the University of Missouri–Columbia prior to veterinary school. A love of all four-legged animals, a strong interest in science, and a desire to care for the helpless led Dr. Schatz to study veterinary medicine. After receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, she spent three years in mixed animal private practice in Jefferson County. In 2008, Dr. Schatz’s entrepreneurial spirit kicked in and she opened Advantage Veterinary Center.
When not at work, she enjoys horseback riding, game nights with family and friends, going to the Fox Theatre and the Muny Opera, running and Elvis impersonators.
Dr. Schatz lives with her husband Craig, two dogs, five horses, and three barn cats. The Schatz family includes two-legged children as well-- Eli, Emma, and Jamieson.
Heather, RVT is 2012 graduate of Jefferson College. She currently divides her professional duties between AVC and the Animal Emergency Clinic. She enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of not only the animals but their owners. In addition to working as a RVT, she is an active volunteer with a local animal rescue. In her free time, Heather enjoys working out, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family. Heather's favorite pet is a cat name Willy that she got in Bora Bora.
Emily has been with Advantage Vet Center as the receptionist since January 2017. She has always had a passion for working with animals. She has 5 fur babies, Riot, Lyric and Captain are her cats and Dirty and Dixie are her dogs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, taking her dogs to the river, and binge watching Netflix with her husband and daughter. She is excited to welcome a new baby to the family in September 2018.
Originally from California, I have been a St. Louis girl since moving here as a teenager.
I have four grown children and seven wonderful grandchildren. I love animals and have 3 dogs and 1 cat of my own. I love my job and the people I work with.
In my free time, I also love spending time with my husband, family, crafting, and spending time at my favorite place, The Ocean.
Lead Technician, RVT
Lizzy, Lead Technician & RVT, has always loved all animals and grew up knowing that one day she would work and care for them. In 2014, she earned her degree with national and state accreditation as a RVT. She has been with Advantage since 2013. Some of her favorite aspects of our clinic include the senior patients, anesthetic monitoring, and preventative care. At home, she enjoys the company of her two dogs, four chickens, one husband, and baby on the way. Lizzy also enjoys hiking, swimming, travelling, and spending time with her family.
Robin Raynor, RVT began her journey at AVC shortly after graduating with an Associates in Science in Veterinary Technology at Jefferson College in 2015. She divides her professional skills between two clinics, enjoying her days off at a large animal veterinary office. Her most favorite things to do are to go for hikes and take naps with her 4-legged best friend Paisley.
Breanna, RVT, is a 2016 graduate from Midwest Institute. Bree developed a soft spot for animals as a young girl. She has quite a few fur babies of her own: 2 dogs, Layla and Diesel, and 3 cats, Boots, Trike and Hunter. Outside of working with animals, Bree loves teaching dance, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with her family.
Anna, RVT, graduated in 2019 from the Jefferson College Vet Tech program. Her love for animals started at a young age and quickly grew into a furry family of five. She has two dogs: Raven and Teddy, and three cats: Bellatrix, Minerva, and Timmy. Her favorite breed of dogs are Pit Bulls and she plans to have a Sphinx very soon. Outside of Advantage, she spends her time with her husband and her son Kevin. They love spending time outdoors and taking walks with the dogs in the evenings.
Stephanie is a registered veterinary technician (RVT), who graduated from the Veterinary Technology program of Jefferson College . When starting with Advantage as an intern in 2016, she believed that every pet mattered and has continued to be compassionate about saving lives. She loves helping clients and meeting all their fur babies. During her time in the program, she rescued a Boston Terrier named Wilbur. She enjoys spending time with Wilbur, going out with her 6 beautiful nieces and nephews, watching movies, and enjoying the outdoors.
Carrie is a graduate from Jefferson College. She started as an intern at Advantage in March 2016. She loves her yorkie, huskey and her 2 black cats! Carrie enjoys meeting new and regular clients here at the clinic as well as the fur babies they bring! In her free time she enjoys going for walks in the park and couponing!
Jenna is currently in her second year of veterinary technology program at Jefferson College. Jenna has one dog, one cat and eight chickens. Her dog Barrett (in the photo) is her best friend. She spends any moment she can with Barrett. Jenna enjoys outdoor activities such as; hunting, fishing, and free-range shooting with her family.
Carol is currently finishing her second year in the Jefferson College Veterinary technology program, as of May 2020. She have been in love with caring for animals since She were a child. Carol has a special interest in aquatic animal (such as dolphins, sharks, and other ocean animals), and wanted to be a Marine biologist. Carol has three dogs: Sophia, Brownie, & Rayea (from left to right). She also has one cat (Simba) and one rabbit (Marble). Carol spends free time watching movies, reading, walking her dogs, and/or playing/cuddling with all her animals.
Logan is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technology Program at Jefferson College and plans to graduate in May 2020. She has always had a passion for animal medicine, especially studying animal behavior. Logan has one dog, a Beagle/Boxer mix named Bandit (pictured). In her free time, Logan loves to train and play with Bandit, ride horses, and relax playing video games or watching movies.
Tara is a current student of the Jefferson College Veterinary Technician Program and plans to graduate in May 2021. Originally from Arizona, she moved to Missouri in 2018. Fun fact: Tara got married on Halloween in 2017, her favorite holiday. She has had a passion for animals since she was a little girl and enjoys studying Animal Behavior while working at a doggy daycare. Tara has two dogs: Jackie (right) and Molly (left) that are littermates. When she’s not working, Tara enjoys watching movies, reading, playing video games, and snuggling with her dogs.
Meredith is currently enrolled at Murray State University in the Veterinary Technology program and plans to graduate in May of 2021. Meredith has had a love for animals from a very young age and has always known she wanted to work with them. She has two horses, Dancer and Shawnee, and 3 Sphynx cats. Meredith enjoys spending her free time being outdoors, riding horses, hiking, and spending time with her friends & family.
KC has always loved animals. She started working with them closely as a pet photographer. In 2017, she started using her photography skills to volunteer at local St. Louis area shelters and rescues to help find homes for the adoptable dogs and cats. She has always wanted to find a career with animals and loves being a receptionist at Advantage!
KC is married and has two sons and a stepson. She also has a pit bull named Zoe and a Golden Retriever named Moose. In her free time, you can find her binge-watching The Office or hanging out at home with her family.
Liz is currently enrolled in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technology program and expects to graduate in 2021. After graduation, she hopes to use her education and four years of tech experience to become an RVT. She earned her MBA in April 2020 and uses her degree to run her own cleaning and pet sitting business on her days off.
Liz has three cats: Pandora, Charlotte, and Percy, as well as one very spoiled older beagle named Penny (pictured). When not working, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband Nolan, visiting her parents, and reading fiction novels.
Nicole is a 2016 graduate from Jefferson College. She has always had a passion for helping animals and helping to educate owners. Nicole has four horses, one dog, and two ferrets. In her free time, Nicole loves to spend time with her family and travel to Rodeos to barrel race.
Nicole and her husband just had their first baby named Layne on June 17th, 2020.
Julie has been passionate about advocating for animals for many years. Providing top-quality customer service to pets and their owners is very important to her. In addition to working with the amazing team at Advantage, she actively volunteers her time at the Wildlife Rehab Clinic and works at a cat café.
Julie has 2 teens at home along with her dog Punky, cats: Shelby, Carrot, and Oreo, and degus: Nibbles and Holiday. In her downtime, Julie loves traveling to the beach or mountains with family, customizing crafts, thrift store shopping, walking trails, and anything DIY.
Queen of Advantage
CJ (Carol Jr.) is the queen of Advantage. She arrived in 2013 as an injured stray under the care of one of our wonderful clients. As she slowly recovered, the office fell in love with her, and she became a permanent office cat. Her favorite activities are snuggling in warm laundry, eating, and sticking her butt in your face while you’re working.
Annoying Younger Brother
Archer is our youngest office cat who arrived here in 2016 as a feral kitten. He quickly grew to love people and the food they bring him. He can be found lounging on top of the receptionists’ monitors waiting for attention. When he isn’t up front, his favorite activities include napping, rolling treats around on the floor, and playing the annoying younger brother to CJ and Kirka.
